Sunday Funday: Disney on Ice

This Friday was Kids' Night Out at FBCTW, so we decided to take the kids to Disney on Ice for Sunday Funday!  Anna could not wait to see Tinker Bell.

 Nate crashed after 5 minutes. He had a very tiring day of playing, eating candy, playing, watching movies, playing, you get the picture....

 Anna was wide awake the entire way home insisting we turn the radio "up, please!"

We managed to make it out of Reliant without purchasing the $16 Peter Pan sword or the $22 fairy light up toy! I thought the $2.50 boxes of popcorn were a bargain, until I realized it was so salty you HAD to buy drinks. 4 drinks = $19! Yikes!

It was worth it to see my baby girl's eyes light up when she saw Tink fly across the ice!

Our friends Dustin and Jessica are from Missouri and we'd been talking to going to a BU vs. Mizzou game for a long time. It just so happened we played e/other for Baylor's homecoming this year. They graciously offered to drive to Waco, and pulled up in their Mizzoumobile.

I had to take a trip down memory lane, so we visited the bookstore and paid way too much money for more BU sweatshirts and t-shirts for the kids, then walked to a few of our favorite spots on campus.

Friday Family Fun Night: Football!

We started our Friday Family Fun Night at...

 

We had an hour to spare between when school let out and when our LPCA football game began, so we took full advantage of the extra time.

 

She is as sweet as the cupcake she devoured!

 I am blessed to teach at what I believe with my whole heart is the greatest school on the planet! Legacy Prep is a college preparatory Christian Academy whose mission is to help prepare our students to be college worthy character witnesses for Christ. We are a University Model school, so our elementary students only attend on M,W and our intermediate, junior high, and high school students attend on M,W,F. Tuesdays and Thursdays the parents or co-teachers work with their children at home. Nate is a Kindergartner at Legacy, and I am blessed beyond words to have him at LPCA. I cherish every moment I have with him on Tuesdays and Thursdays, he is learning so much, and everything is taught in light of scripture! Nate loves Jesus, is memorizing Bible verses, and is learning all about how everything that the Bible says is true!

This week our UNDEFEATED football team had a pep rally.

Tonight, our team won, so we finished this season without a single loss! Yay LPCA!!! 

Anna WAS at the game with us although I didn't get any pics of her. We chased around "Roary" our school mascot, but we never did catch up to her when I had my camera ready. 

My sweet friend, Steph, heard about our Football Friday Family Fun Night and left this little gift on my desk this morning. It was a perfect way to top off our evening. Nothing like oreos and milk before bed. Yummy!

Trick-or-Treat

 Mimi took Anna around the block for her first time to trick-or-treat, Willie passed out candy, and I took FIVE boys through the neighborhood. In the end, only two survived every house on every street in our section. The pay off: 9 LBS of candy per boy!!!

Halloween observations: In keeping up with the kids while trick-or-treating, I noticed that trick-or-treating has changed just a little bit. 

1.) Children full out sprint from house to house. Do they think that the houses are going to run out of candy? Do they think that the houses will disappear before they get there? These boys were drenched with sweat and out of breath! I could not get them to slow down!

2.) The kids actually considered not walking up driveways and ringing door bells. Several families were set up at the end of the driveway, and this made sprinting from house to house much easier. Next year, I think I'm going to sit on the porch swing and just throw candy onto the street as the kids pass by. Oh, and at one point I was carrying THREE huge 9 lb bags for the kids. They were too tired to carry their own candy! 

3.) The kids were happy to grab their candy and RUN. I think we were at house 20 before I had them trained to say "thank you" after someone GAVE them FREE candy! I know, as a child, I graciously thanked each and every neighbor that passed out bits of deliciousness to me, right?!

Was almost 2 hours of running around the neighborhood, carrying huge bags of candy with 5 boys worth it? I'll let you be the judge....
